Hotel L'Iglesia

We had booked a room with separate beds, they gave us a double bed, the room had no air conditioning, there was no hot water for the shower, we went out in the evening and returned at 4 in the morning, we called the reception and they didn't open for us, we stayed outside for an hour knocking on the door until the guy at the reception opened the door for us, having paid for the room with welfare, the girl stopped us in the morning and asked us if we had paid, I showed her the email and she replied we have never worked with the welfare method, fortunately I had the payment email, not happy she took 40 dirhams more for the tourist tax, they made us have breakfast with expired yogurt and two pieces of msemen, we asked for a bottle of water and they made us pay 30 dirhams, I have traveled half the world and I have never had as bad an experience as I had in this hotel, despite having paid 150 euros for one night, a crazy price for being in El Jadida

I stayed for 2 nights in May in the hotel - I didn't stay in the old church but in the part where also the restaurant is (La Capitainerie). My room looked on the courtyard and was very clean and very spacious. The shower was lovely and had a very good pressure. On arrival I was told breakfast was served at 8.30 which I thought was rather late if you want to go out on a day trip. It was also the reason that I didn't take breakfast on day 2, as the driver wanted to leave at 8 because we had a long drive that day. While the room was nice and the staff was friendly breakfast was that one day I had probably the poorest I had in my 10 days stay in different places. There was nothing wrong with the quality: it just feld a bit sad. Fe: there is so much nice fruit on the markets (strawberries, cherries, all kind of melons,..) and then they serve an apple and kiwi's... I had the first evening dinner in the restaurant - I was the only person there: in my opion it was overpriced.

The room was terribly musty. The internet barely worked. Breakfast was mediocre.
