Ocean Vagabond

I am very disappointed by my experience at the Hotel Océan Vagabond. The staff is generally unprofessional. The room was not comfortable, the bed and pillows were very hard, which prevented me from sleeping well throughout the stay. The day of departure, the situation worsened with a waiter with very unpleasant behavior. There was a significant delay in serving breakfast, and besides, our table was not served like the others around us. When I asked him for an explanation, he replied rudely, saying that there were no provisions, without any consideration. I also reported this at the reception. The gentleman was kind, but no solution was proposed, and there was apparently no official on site. Frankly, paying 2300 DH for two nights, in addition to tourist taxes, for such a poor service and a total lack of professionalism, is unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel.

The Hotel Ocean Vagabond (not to be confused with the bar of the same name at the other end of the beach!) is in an ideal location a couple of hundred metres from the beautiful beach and very close to the medina. The pool & small garden were lovely, we had a dip every afternoon & chilled out in the little garden 'hut'. The staff are really lovely - very friendly & helpful. The breakfast was great - fresh fruit, bread, eggs, pastries & cakes. I had a room facing the road - it was basic, but clean and good enough. There was a bath & shower, ample storage and a safe. The TV didn't work (but didn't want to watch it anyway). The bed was OK, the pillows a bit lumpy. The main problem was the road noise, so I didn't sleep very well. My friend upgraded to a pool-facing room with balcony, which was much, much nicer and a lot quieter! I would have liked a kettle in the room, or tea/coffee facilities downstairs. The nearest cafe was 5 min walk away. It's a good basic hotel and I would stay here again, but would upgrade my room & bring a kettle & tea bags!
