Sofitel Essaouira Medina and Spa

Be very careful because this hotel is under construction at least until September 2026. It is indicated in English (on the French site) at the end of the hotel description on ALL Accor: "Our hotel is reinventing itself through an elegant renovation that will continue until September 2026. During this period, we continue to welcome you in the best conditions. Our wellness area is being developed with thalassotherapy, which will soon be replaced by a spa centre with hammam, massages and treatments. The indoor heated pool is therefore also currently closed during the works. However, our outdoor pool remains open and accessible." Except that the SPA is closed, but you have to read between the lines and deduce from "which will soon be replaced by a spa centre" that it is actually not accessible if you come before... This renovation comes with significant inconveniences for hotel guests: saws, hammers, drills, workers passing through, etc. If you intend to take a nap in your room or read quietly by the pool, this place is not ideal. The renovation is undoubtedly elegant, but the way of informing its clientele is not really so. If you express your surprise at the front desk, you are kindly told that it was clearly indicated on all travel platforms. So read the fine print carefully because otherwise you will be solely responsible for your blunder. Obviously you pay the normal price for your room, because why on earth give a discount on a degraded service? There are 2 positive points nonetheless, on one hand there is no construction work at night and on the other hand the hotel provides you with a bottle of mineral water per room free of charge. A big thank you to the whole team for this excellent stay. The welcome was warm upon my arrival and the service was impeccable throughout the stay. I would like to give a special mention to Ms. Nezha, Front Office Manager, for her professionalism and kindness, to Mr. Abdellatif for his excellent service at breakfast, to Mr. Saïd (Night Audit), as well as to the entire housekeeping team for their remarkable work. If I mention these people in particular, it is because I had the opportunity to be in direct contact with them. But, in general, the entire team deserves to be congratulated for the quality of their welcome, their smile, and their sense of service. I am entirely satisfied with my stay and I will return with great pleasure with my family, insha'Allah. Thanks again to the whole team and see you very soon.

Le Medina Essoauria was a very lovely hotel. The room was large and clean and the pool area was very relaxing. I loved the hotel restaurant, it's located on the beach and I would highly recommend eating outside while lounging at one of the large tables with sofas. The food was very good and everyone in my group enoyed what they ordered. The location is fanstastic it's an easy walk to the medina yet not so close as to be noisy and feel busy. While there were renovations going on, they did not distract from enjoying any of the facilities.
