It is a scam to have to pay an extra 16€ after the pyment of 73€ At 90 € stay at 40km flap in a douar I will say who lacks services To get there you need at least 15€ of transport To this take I will have booked in the best hotels in the center of rabat which costs only 20 or 30 € I call it a scam because we don't ask you for extra until we confirm. It is after paying and confirming that we send you the dup of 4€ per night So if you pay 75€ it goes back 90 And to this take 40 km from rabt c fouuuuuu Jamai Seen

Myself and my girlfriend visited here for s long weekend (4 days) and loved it. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The grounds are immaculate. The style is authentic but modern and the hotel is incredibly quiet. It is located away front the old town but the hotel has its own taxi which is very fairly priced. It seems to run a non-profit service for its guests to get them into the town. We used it multiple times a day. Food is also excellent but expensive compared to the old town. Although helpful if you don't fancy travelling in. Excellent hotel. Would stay again in future.

The Dar Shama is a bit of a mixed bag. There are some positives but overall I could not recommend it and (because we had such a wonderful time in Marraakech) whilst we will go back to Marrakech, we will not go back here. First of all, it claims to be 5 stars. Now I know that 5 stars in Morocco, like Greece, Turkey etc isn't the same as it might be elsewhere, but even by reduced standards, this is not 5 stars. In a way I can see how it got its rating but it should be reviewed every so often and if it were I am sure it would be down to 3 stars. At one time Palamarie was quite a posh place to be but it is now a bit run down, much like the Dar Shama. I'm sure when it was new it was very nice but it looks like it has had no updating in years and, in this market, that is not good enough. For example, all the seat cushions were dirty and stained. The room was ok but when you look closely it is dirty. The bathroom was very poor and the water supply.....don't get me started. On a positive note, the staff that were there were very nice and helpful (when they were there) but we were the only people there all week and whilst that had some advantages, it was a bit odd an we got the feeling the whole operation had been scaled down. We were half board and whilst the food was nice it was a case of getting what you were given each night. The probable reason for all this (as we found out halfway through our week), is that the hotel stopped taking new bookings some time ago because there are massive building works directly next door. This starts before 7am and (with a lunch break) continues much of the day. It is very loud and literally shakes the whole place like an earthquake. I am not exaggerating. So much for the peace and tranquility that hotels in this area sell themselves. We tried complaining but got nowhere as very little English was spoken. Definitely do not go here unless assured the building work is finished which looking at the size of the build, may be some time. Lastly, regardless of the building, i would not return here because of its location. It is 15 mins taxi ride from anything and so getting out and about, especially in the evenings, is very difficult. (They have a shuttle but its not available after you have eaten) We chose to skip out half board meal a couple of times and went into the city. If you are visiting Marrakech I think you are much better staying more central.
