Tranquil authentic hotel setting. Rustic so do not expect it to be pristine like a modern hotel. Beautiful Berber decor, greeted with a Moroccan tea when we arrived. Incredible views from our window every morning over the valley. Crystal clear skies and air with beautiful sunsets. Small hotel with 12 rooms. We stayed 3 nights. Often we were the only guests in the pool and at the time we had breakfast and dinner. We had a friendly vocal cat that has recently found Agounsane as her home. We called her ‘Kasbah’. It felt like we had hired the place for ourselves. Beautifully decorated room, day bed, with windows and balcony. Able to shower looking out of the window in private. Very friendly staff particularly, Juoped the waiter who was very attentive. Food took a little longer to serve as all freshly prepared. Worth waiting for as all meals were excellent. A beautiful place to stay in the mountains. We stayed here after visiting Marrakesh-a perfect place to rest and reflect on our experience. We also took a trip across the mountains to visit the highest point (Oukaimeden Mountain peak) which was a spectacular scenic drive. Stopping for a roadside coffee from a converted hatchback car with full coffee machine and little stools to sit on. If you would like a true authentic Berber experience then this hotel is a must. We would recommend and definitely return if we were coming to stay in the mountains.

A really beautiful location, off the beaten track. The rooms are gorgeous- we had a Superior Suite (huge) with a fabulous view over the valley and the pool. The decor is stunning and all the furnishings are traditional and create a wonderful ambience. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s very quiet - a low fuss, very restorative vibe. Great pool. Very little to do but read, chill, drink juice and swim. The food is good - we stayed two nights and suspect the range on the half board might feel limited if it doesn’t change much but had a delicious chicken tajine with preserved lemons and olives and great Moroccan soup. Excellent massage - masseuse was a bit late and disorganised but she certainly knows her stuff. Would love to return

Pros - middle of nowhere in the mountains. Serene location, brilliant views, lovely terraces, swimming pool and gardens, absolutely calm and relaxing - very friendly staff, mostly neat & clean, - only 12 rooms, all of which are massive, so very few guests around you. Cons - middle of no where in the mountains. So absolutely no transport connectivity. You have to book private taxis from the hotel to get to anywhere including Marrakech. No tour buses come to this location so you have no choice but to rent private cars. One way trip to Morocco is euro 50, short return trips are euro 100 and most of the travel attractions trips are euro 300 per day in the private cars. Food & drinks at the hotel very expensive for the same reason. - owners have not trained staff. While staff have great intent, they are not trained in running of a tourist hotel. Room trash bins were not cleaned for us, toiletries/ wet towels/ even toilet rolls were not replaced, room lights not working and we're not replaced despite our repeated reminders, spa lights not functioning, spa bathroom/ toilet wet/ little dirty/ broken shower. - big English language issue which very few staff speak - they mostly speak French & Arabic. So while the staff intent is great once they understand you, getting them to understand you is a challenge
