Marquise Villa

This hotel is 5-10 mins drive out of the Old City, so not suitable if you want to be able to walk in and out (which has its downsides, although all part of the experience). BUT if you want pure tranquility and relaxation this is the place. Everything is spotlessly clean and tidy and all in a great state of repair. Rooms are so relaxing, all on level with double doors opening onto the pool terrace. The pool is wonderful, clean and peaceful. The hotel will drive you into town and pick you up, pretty much whenever you want for free. You can also arrange to be collected/taken to the airport which is very handy. We also arranged to keep our room for longer in the day as we had an evening flight, which was really appreciated. Staff very friendly but do not speak English, written communication seemed to work well.

Staying at Villa la petite Marquise was an incredible experience and I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Marrakech looking for the perfect blend of relaxing leisure time and sightseeing. I stayed there for four nights with three of my friends (we are all 21-year-old girls) and the staff was incredible to us. We were served a delicious complimentary breakfast every morning outside by the pool, and had the option of ordering lunch or dinner, for purchase, there as well . The villa and its grounds are beautiful and well kept-up, and there is plenty of space around the pool to lie out in the sun on deck chairs. They also have a driver, who was available to take us into the city (about a 10 minute drive) whenever we wanted to go and was extremely helpful in showing us around and giving us information. The hotel also offers day trips for purchase and we took one to Essaouira, which was incredible. We never felt unsafe, as many people warned us we would in Morocco as we were young women traveling alone - we felt extremely well taken care of and safe the entire time because of this hotel! It was an amazing experience and felt like we had our own private paradise/oasis outside the city!

Villa la petite marquise is located about 10 minutes outside of the main medina (city walls) of marrakech, but is truly a gem for those looking to experience morocco. You pull up to this huge gate, and when it opens it's like you're stepping into this gorgeous private desert oasis. The pool is pretty and there's a gazebo-type place with cushions as well where you can sit or nap in the shade. The staff are so incredibly friendly and accommodating - the breakfast every day (bread with jam and butter, orange juice, AMAZING coffee and a pastry or crepe) is perfection, and they have a shuttle that runs into the city that's supposed to be at certain times but it ended up just being upon request for us, so we could come and go as we wanted. They organized a day trip to Essoauira for us that was a trip highlight. Our room for four was comfortable and the outlets were european. We're four american women in our 20's and I felt completely secure at this hotel. The one thing I will add is that they don't speak english, only french, so bring a phrase book if you don't have anyone with you who speaks french. But honestly a fabulous experience, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone!
