Riad Elixir

Beautiful authentic Riad in the north of the medina. Friendly neighborhood, to discover the real life of the medina, a little away from Jemaa El Fna square but very quiet. Very easy to get around with Google Maps and to orient yourself. We have been regulars at this place for 15 years, a true haven of peace. The rooms are comfortable. The Moroccan breakfast is served there in the patio. The Riad Elixir team takes great care to ensure you have an excellent stay, the girls are very good cooks, succumb to the charm of a quiet dinner at the Riad!!! Khalid will be able to advise you on your walks and possibly your excursions, he knows everything!!! Do not succumb to the sirens of the platforms for visits, let yourself be guided by the team that will organize your excursions in a personalized way. If you are looking for authenticity, friendliness, you are in the right place!!

Horrific experience, it is as if you slept on the street, the air conditioning glue did not work either for cold or for heat, the room a hole, the beds with two blankets of the 70s, the bathroom the worst I have ever seen to start crying. The only thing that saves the kindness of the owner of the Riad, helps in any way he can. It offers a very basic breakfast (coffee, butter, jam and cheeses, an orange juice and a piece of pastries). The location is very remote, not worth it.

I just wanted to write to say how kind the hosts were. We unfortunately left Riad Elixir prior to staying a night, due to the location. This was nothing to do with the Riad itself but was simply down to what was outside of the front door. Location wise - if you’re searching for authentic hustle & bustle, a bit far out from the touristy scene, with more of a local vibe, this Riad is in the perfect spot. But prepare for local customs! The inside is beautiful and although we didn’t stay long enough to see it all, our room was generously sized, very comfortable & peaceful. Unfortunately for us, we wanted a calmer environment and that was our fault for booking so centrally in the Medina. Thank you to the hosts for taking care of us, letting us stay to figure out our plans and for walking us to the nearest & safest taxi spot - after a truly overwhelming experience entering the Souks.
