Worst welcome in the world. The hotel manager yelled at us under the pretext that we were swimming in the pool, he shouted saying that my outfit was not suitable even though I was wearing a one-piece swimsuit. Insulted us by shouting that his hotel was not a farm (I didn't understand). At the end he made racist remarks by explaining to us that the French were clean while the Arabs were dirty and poorly behaved. We were shocked and we preferred to leave. We came from Paris to Casablanca then from Casablanca to Zagora to visit part of our family. We know the region and I have already been to different hotels with swimming pools several times, always had a very good welcome and it is the first time in my life, especially as a Moroccan, that I have heard such shocking or that I witness such a spectacle. No education. This manager yells at us like we work for him. I cried my eyes out. He ruined our moment which was going very well.

It was love at first sight from the moment I stepped through the wooden gate into the serene courtyard. I walked past wrought iron settings on the porch into the dimly lit foyer/lobby and truly believed I was on a Hollywood movie set. Large overstuffed couches were scattered around the area, with a central atrium lighting cafe style table settings. This is the only area you can access wifi, which was fine by me. Several dining rooms branched off from the main foyer, where we enjoyed a fantastic meal of trout (a house specialty) and a beef and prune tagine.
Our bedroom was spacious and finished with traditional touches. Swathes of vibrant fabric covered the large window and a brightly upholstered bench seat with oversized cushions sat below it. It was a dreamy position to sit in the late afternoon and enjoy the warm rays of winter sun. The room was modestly furnished, but included a TV, writing desk and split system. There was no hairdryer, but I was able to use the radiator for this purpose (it was also handy for drying some clothes that we'd rinsed on the bathroom sink!)
Breakfast was enjoyed in another dining area - a magnificent space with arched windows that flooded the room with golden morning light. What I liked most about this kasbah was that it wasn't perfect. It was a little dusty and a bit worn, giving it more of a sense of history. To me it was completely perfect and a place I could've easily settled into for a long time.
