Me and my Italian partner stayed one night and we immediately decided to add another. We were very fascinated by Berber furniture, every detail and piece of furniture recalls Berber history. It is located in the center of Taroudannt, hidden in an alley. Just out of there there are various shops and has only 2 minutes the stop of the puppies (carriages with taxi functionality). If you need a real taxi to get out of the city you just have to wait in front of it because so many pass. Let's move on to the staff: the two guys who welcomed us with a huge education and welcome. The ladies who took care of the super available rooms. Excellent breakfast: full Moroccan breakfast (msemmen, bread, butter, cheese, oil, peanut cream, spices, Moroccan mint tea, Moroccan coffee, yogurt). We highly recommend this Riad.

I have been staying at the Palais Salam since 1982 and it has been one of my favourite hotels of the world, but I am told that the owner died and his two sons are arguing and it is for sale. The quicker that it is sold the better. They should feel very ashamed that they have allowed this lovely property to run down to the filthy unkempt place that it has become. I didn't stay this time and if I had booked I would not have stayed.

Walked in to have a drink in this run down former palace. Owner wanted 5 euro each for a non alcoholic drink that would be 2 euro in any other tourist hotel. When we politely declined he obviously muttered something very nasty in Arabic. With all the other negative reviews I don’t think this place will last much longer.
