Thazin Garden

We stayed at the hotel in December 2018 and decided to come back as we were going to be visiting Bagan again in February 2020. The hotel has changed little although it is feeling a tiny bit dated and could benefit from better lighting in the rooms and even a shower curtain in the bathroom! The water supply was not the best but the rest of the property and the staff definitely take your mind off some of the failings. Having dinner in the garden is such a pleasure and something that I would do over and over again. The pool area is just stunning with vibrant bougainvillea and breakfast has a good selection including a pancake and egg station.

This is a good hotel. Lovely pool area and gardens, friendly staff and nice big rooms. The plumbing is a bit dodgy, several of our group had problems and lighting in the rooms is inexplicably dark. Overall though, it is a lovely place to stay, if they sharpened up on a few things it could be an excellent spot.

Hotel was part of a series of hotel stops in Myanmar over two weeks. Grounds lovely with pool. Drinks on expensive side compared to local restaurants / other hotels but still relatively low cost by uk standards. All group members reported that, like my room, the rooms were tired and most toilets didn't flush properly. Quite noisy with washing machines running into early hours of mornings and local dogs barking/howling. Breakfast items were cold except freshly cooked eggs. If you got to breakfast as it opened then selections was ok but most items and cutlery had run out by 7am and not replenished despite asking. Staff seemed to work hard to keep things clean and tidy but let down by poor state of the rooms and lack of attention to cooking food. I would not recommend this hotel and if on a group tour suggest requesting an alternative.
