We were lucky enough to have a room with a view of Shwedagon Pagoda & that's about it. Coach after coach of Chinese tourists who bang doors & talk loudly outside room, but nobody will say anything...only 'they go tomorrow' (little sleep). Breakfast is limited to chinese tastes. Pool is a 5 min walk to gate, down behind guard house, across road, down a spiral staircase. Even if you use it, by the time you trek back to room not relaxed anymore. Kids pool disgusting green, in need of clean. Kept promising to clean but didn't. Regret not moving 1st night there.

visited Yangon in january 2017, just got back today. What a wonderful time, some high points and some low points, Whilst this is no 5 star hotel - and is in need of a lot of TLC, the staff make up for any shortcommings the hotel may have, although it should be noted that some times things are lost in translation due to our lack of burmesse and the staffs limited englsih. This can only improve as more guests visit The rooms are huge and the views outsanding. the down side is that the pool areas let the hotel down - a quick lick of paint, added with some cleaning up of the area would be a start, as would the provision of seats. Such a shame the small pool to the back fo the hotel could not be cleaned as this area would make a lovley place to spend a quite afternoon.

I made booking via booking.com and I called hotel to cancel the booking before check in time however I was handelled with very rude person who doesn't know customer service. I am still shocked that this amazing hotel that I have heard of has such service which make me have more doubts. I repeated my issue to him and that I totally agree the terms and conditions of hotel reservation and I use 'request' several times but he doesn't want to understand and keep repeating its just a policy. It is so horrible to deal with such a person like that really a nightmare. I hope this tip might help hotel to improve for better.
