Our driver recommended this place and We love it. Located In an affluent community, gated with 24 hour security. Courtyard is lined with flowers and honeysuckle releases sweet floral Fragrance. Azaleas, daisies, petunias. Indoor outdoor restaurant with international cuisine. Owner has international experience in hospitality. Very clean everywhere. VIP service.. Off the busy roads so air is clean and you want to be outside. We stayed here 2x and look forward to staying here on our next trip to Kathmandu.

After 2 nights in average noisy hotel near the airport, The Royal Astoria Hotel was an oasis of rest, beauty and quiet for us! What a fabulous gem! The gate opening from the narrow alley did not allow us to imagine what a beautiful property and garden lay behind! Our suite room was very clean with a comfortable bed and the north side view that looked out on the garden courtyard. We loved listening to the birds sing and the quiet of the weekend. Manager Nagendra did everything to make our stay comfortable and was a genial host. On the south side of the hotel is a large school with noisy kids Sun-Friday. For some, no elevator for the four floors could be a problem. Fortunately, we came on Fri eve and stayed til Sunday morning so there was no noise level to bother us and we loved the beautiful circular marble stairs, wood paneled walls and art ever where. The restaurant was delicious and we had breakfast outside in the garden both days of our stay. We will definitely return to this hotel on our next visit to Katmandu!

Royal Astoria Hotel hosted my wedding in November of 2024. My family and I stayed at the hotel for over a week, and we found the service to be exceptional. Sameer was always available and very attentive to my family’s needs. We ate many meals at the on-site restaurant, and the chef provided several different types of cuisine. He even offered to teach my mother how to make the local cuisines. The food was excellent. The rooms were clean and serviced every other day with fresh sheets and towels. The rooms also offered hot water and air conditioning. Coordinating the wedding with the hotel staff was a breeze, and the garden provided a beautiful environment for our 100+ guests. We look forward to returning to Royal Astoria Hotel the next time we visit Kathmandu.
