BEST WESTERN HOTEL GIELING

We had booked for 3 nights in this family hotel and this during the high season. When we arrived, we could already feel the downpour. Very few cars on the parking (3 vehicles counted) the family hotel is located on the edge of an industrial park, between a McDonalds and a busy road. When checking in we quickly received an answer that we could take off our mouth mask!! Well that is something that we ourselves determine in times of the Coronavirus. We had booked a double room with separate beds. The room with bathroom is very small and looks clean at first sight, but appearances are deceiving. Too bad the glass curtains were gray instead of radiant white and were inhabited by the spider family. The outside of the toilet could also use soapy water. We don't like to see brown splashes on a toilet bowl. Also the wall tiles behind the toilet were yellow instead of white and there was black mold on the ceiling above the shower. The beds are very small and incredibly hard and I mean really hard you might as well sleep on the floor. The breakfast is very economical and very basic don't expect high flyers. There was no fruit salad or yogurt. Every morning we had to ask for bacon and scrambled eggs because that was always finished while it was only 8 o'clock in the morning, we also had to tilt the small orange juice machine to be able to have a glass of orange juice after all. Due to the economical breakfast, our desire to eat a hot meal in the hotel in the evening quickly passed, only 1 x we ​​took a supper that was written on a chalkboard and that was tasty and cared for. But that's the only positive thing we can say about that hotel. All other evenings we went to eat in another hotel. At 10pm the bar which isn't really there closes. here too a very economical drinks menu. You can enjoy your drink outside on the noisy terrace or in the hotel's dining room. You pay 20 euros per day per dog, but you can't really call this hotel animal-friendly. We were not allowed to take a seat in the dining room with the dogs and we were placed on the other side of the entrance, namely at a separate table where the staff otherwise eat their meals next to the toilets, and this while there was hardly anyone in the dining room bad 3 tables were in use. Exactly as if we were infected with some disease. A certain "Rob" who works there is very unfriendly, arrogant and racist !!! You will not find real holidaymakers in this hotel. The few people present who stay overnight are more likely to be workmen who use the hotel as a base for 1 night. The photos they use as advertising on their website to promote the hotel looked nice but don't reflect reality !!! which is very misleading. We think the price/quality we paid is very expensive for what you have and get. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and we will NEVER see them again!!! At first we did not understand that there are people who give this hotel a 5/5 ... but that is not so surprising when you quickly realize that they give themselves a positive review !!!

What a great visit! We spontaneously decided to come to Amsterdam for the Eminem concert. We ended up here and couldn’t have asked for anything more! What a great visit! Thanks you so much! Jarno was an amazing host!

Me and my family arrived the hotel 21.04 after a long day drive from Denmark. We asked the receptionist for dinner ,he said sorry too late. What really pissed us off was on our leaving day. We came down for breakfast and we were not on the list. We came one hour before closing ! ? NO FLEXABILITY AT ALL ! !
