We had a great time in this lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and have a thick pass. You could therefore remove the minuses but I will name them anyway. The bed was not very good, although that will not apply to all beds. The TV is (too) small and very outdated with VERY bad picture. Breakfast was just enough for the four of us, we did note that there could have been a slightly bigger choice for the dairy. Parking is well taken care of, was just looking, car charging also good! The dinner, which was in our arrangement, was exquisite. Unfortunately there was no choice menu but everyone got the same. The beautiful location is a plus, near the old market so very central. Everything within walking distance. Surroundings are nice for a nice walk for example in the Ursuline garden around the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and give four fat stars.

I expected to find the hotel as shown here in the picture, but googlemaps directed me to the (only?) entrance and it turns out to be in a dark and dirty alley with trash, fencing and construction work everywhere. Once inside, you are directly at the reception, where the staff is very friendly. It's pretty dark out there. Too bad the radio was very loud, with loud music, and that can be burdensome when you have just been on a long journey and are trying to understand what the receptionist is saying. Pros: - nice staff - if you walk around you still come to the side of the hotel where this picture was taken and everything looks nice - bed is good Cons: - the room was very dirty! I stayed in the split level suite, but there was a thick layer of dust on everything. Also the windows were almost too dirty to touch / open - the split level suite is the only room you can book if you are travelling with a dog, but that room has a very smooth wooden open staircase to the sleeping area. Can be dangerous for dogs - the hotel has a restaurant, but is very difficult if you want to have the meal in your room (dogs are not allowed in the restaurant). Big surcharge too. Room service is just part of a 4 star restaurant, you might think - the food of the restaurant in question was unfortunately very disappointing. There are undoubtedly people who love it, but everything was very spicy. Even the bowl of fries (there's not much that can go wrong with that, I thought) was full of red and black 'pepper' (?) specks, or chili, or whatever. Very hot and not suitable if you don't like it. The tomato soup was also spicy - I was supposed to be picked up the next morning, and was waiting at the entrance outside, but then it turned out that no cars are allowed there at all - no shelf or rack or whatever in the shower, so you can't put your soap/shampoo/toothbrush on anything while showering I would not give this hotel 4 stars, but 3.

The hotel tried too hard to be “design,” and the guest experience suffered for it. We had one of the basic rooms, and the layout was baffling. I’ve never seen anything like it: a huge room that somehow felt like an extension of the bathroom. The toilet was separate from the shower, the sink was in the bedroom, and the doors were transparent, so when the lights were on, you could see your partner’s silhouette on the toilet, there’s not even a lock, the door just even stays a bit open. It felt impractical, weird, and frankly, like a room designed by a man who never had to use it. There is no privacy. For the sake of future guests, proper doors on the toilet would be a good start. We were also on the ground floor, and the hallway noise was constant: late at night, early in the morning, people passing through with no sense that others might be sleeping, speaking very loudly. A simple sign asking guests to keep quiet in the hallway could make a real difference. Also there are no recycling bin in the bedroom and don’t think I have seen it in the hotel. Breakfast was overpriced, especially at 23 euros, but nothing else was open on Sunday, so we had little choice. Warm options were limited, and pastries kept running out whenever I tried to get one. The staff, to their credit, were helpful throughout. There aren’t many hotels in the area, so if I returned, I’d request a quiet room upstairs, and one with a properly designed bathroom.
