Chic & Basic

Was one of the coldest days of winter in 2012 but the hotel room was warm enough. The location is almost perfect as you can walk to Damrak and tourism center of Amsterdam. The price was good, staff was friendly and the hotal was so silent. Its been 4 years since we stayed at the hotel but comparing some other city hotels I can say that I would prefer to stay in there If I go to Amsterdam in the future. As far as I remember that the b'fast was also good enough./ 2012 yilinin en soğuk günlerinden biri olmasina ragmen otel odasi gayet sicakti. Otel basta Damrak olmak uzere tum turizm merkezlerine yürüme mesafesinde. Kahvalti oyle ahim sahim olmasa da bildigin kizarmis ekmek, tere yag ve marmelat. Yeterli yani. Calissanlar dostane, otel sessiz, sakindi. Gordugum pek cok sehir oteline gore fiyati acisindan gayet olumlu buldum. Bir daha gitsek yine ayni yerde kaliriz.

Had a lovely Christmas break in this hotel, the chic & basic is in easy walking distance of the train station, all the restaurants and bars are close by but not to close to get to noisy. The staff are friendly and helpful, a choice of jams and toast in the morning and great coffee machine, but there is a lot of stairs for people who got big suitcases.

Far too hot and airless in the rooms Paid for a double bed, got two single beds pushed together For 130 € a night we could have gone somewhere far nicer Complimentary breakfast was delicious though, and staff were good Keep looking! You'll find better value
