City Hotel Amsterdam

I stayed at this hotel booking a Superior Double Room, but overall the experience did not live up to expectations for this category. The main disappointment is the view: instead of the canals of Amsterdam, I found myself overlooking an inner courtyard, decidedly unimpressive! Even the equipment of the room leaves something to be desired: television too small, absence of minibar, small towels and hair dryer not working. The pillows, moreover, were really uncomfortable. Apart from courtesy slippers, no other kit was missing. Breakfast is just enough: limited choice, little fruit and above all the absence of desserts such as cakes or pies. In addition, in the early hours you could find products that looked like they were from the day before, which was not pleasant. That said, I still award 3 stars for some positive aspects: the location (about 10 minutes walk from the station), the cleanliness and the presence of the bathtub. Overall, however, the value for money is not adequate: for a superior room I expected much more.

This is not a great hotel, but clean and well placed. Comfortable beds, small bathroom, lack of storage or shelves and no tissues. Service and welcome completely correct. The price remains expensive but everything is expensive in Amsterdam.

Great location. Close enough to the Centraal station so we didn't have to lug our suitcases all over the city, and only about a 5 minute walk from the fun parts of Amsterdam. Staff were friendly and accommodating at all times, the room was warm, dark and quiet; we had superior double 202. Great shower with bath. Breakfast was good, toaster, cheeses, danish, eggs, croissants and a range of drinks. Really enjoyed our stay here, would come again.
