Conscious Hotel Museum Square

We arrived on a very hot weekend in Amsterdam. When we checked into the room, we immediately realized there was no air-conditioning. We came to the front desk and were told that most rooms were not air-conditioned, but she could assign us to one which had air conditioning. However, it was considered a “voluntary two step downgrade” because it was smaller, had no outdoor space and had only one bathroom sink. We agreed, then we’re told that there would be no refund in price despite the fact that it was a two step down grade. The room which we were assigned had the air-conditioning unit immediately above the head of the bed meaning that all night, not only did we hear the noise of the unit, but the cold air blew directly onto our faces. Very uncomfortable indeed There are about 100 other options in this part of the city. We travel frequently to Amsterdam because we have children and grandchildren there, , but will never return to this hotel.

The hotel has no air conditioning and the temperature of the room was 30 Celsius at 1800 hours and incredibly hot. It was impossible to spend the night there. I was forced to go to another hotel. No compensation was offered. Poor service. Avoid this hotel in summer.

This hotel is a very pleasant surprise: it is well arranged, not too big, thus human-sized. The breakfast is varied and delicious. We were superbly welcomed by Rehha, who had prepared our room for our anniversary.
