Mercure Hotel Amsterdam City South

Our stay at the Mercure was acceptable, a 2. A second time is conceivable. All in all, considering the favorable price for Amsterdam, it is acceptable. Rooms and amenities are quite okay, good standard, better than most hotels in the chain. Nice view from the 12th. floor. Clean except for a few minor details, bed comfortable, air conditioning unfortunately quite loud, opening the window is not an option due to the expressway. Breakfast is okay, good selection, not always replenished quickly. Ordered egg dishes were rather carelessly prepared, but hey, that often happens. Service at breakfast was very nice, at the reception it varied. It depends on the person. However, the fact that the bar closes at 11 PM is a no-go for the size of the hotel. Nevertheless, a solid experience. Nice stay.

My stay at Mercure Amsterdam City Hotel was overall a good one. The hotel itself was comfortable, the service was good, and it offered a pleasant stay in Amsterdam. One thing to keep in mind, however, is the location. While the hotel is convenient in its own way, it’s not particularly close to restaurants or supermarkets, so it may not be the best choice if you prefer having plenty of dining options or convenience stores just a short walk away. That said, if you’re looking for a comfortable hotel stay in Amsterdam and don’t mind being a little farther from the busier dining and shopping areas, it’s still a solid option.

The room was shockingly small for the price we paid. Not really any space to move. It was not clean. Hair from the previous Hotel guest everywhere in the bathroom. We talked to the staff, before we left for the city. When we came back, some of the hair was gone, but still everything else looked unclean.. Couldn't take a shower, cause the water was not draining. We called the Staff again. They took care of the problem. But for the price we paid, it's not ok for everything to be unclean and not in order. Would have be nice to get a bigger room and at least a small compensation for having to call the Staff because things are not as they should be for a 4-Star hotel.
