The hotel is in an excellent location and in a very nice area.
I have already been to this property three times.
The rooms are small but cute, especially the one with a canal view. At the reception, everyone is very kind and smiling.
Highly recommended!!

There are good things and bad things about this reasonably affordable hotel.
The good - front desk staff were all very friendly, it's a short walk from the hotel to the closest tram stop - making it accessible to most anywhere in Amsterdam, and it had an elevator.
The bad - rooms are very small (which is typical of budget rooms in the city) and the bathroom was unsafe and slippery. The glass partition of the shower was thin and so close to the toilet that it could possibly be shattered. The TV never worked and the Wi-Fi wasn't that great. For breakfast, the coffee was reasonably good but for food, all that was offered were apples, along with one day that had one or two tangerines.
Worst of all - a pair of my black running pants were stolen from my luggage, from my locked room! I am all but certain it was stolen by one of the housekeeping staff. While the pants were expensive ($25), the pants were my personal property!
Housekeeping staff would come at unexpected times (as late as 5 pm) and although fresh towels were given, the sheets were never changed.
Past reviewers complained about the slowness of the elevator but that wasn't a problem. What was a problem was that the elevator was shut down for repairs one day "until the end of the day", which forced me to use the very narrow stairs (which is typical in the city). All in all, the courtesy of the front desk staff made the stay pleasant, but not sure if I would stay there again, especially after having a pair of pants stolen from my luggage

Please pay attention to your recipe administrator, Maryna Korolenko. Recently, she posted on Threads that when Ukrainian guests arrive at the hotel, if she sees a Ukrainian passport but hears them speaking russian to each other (even not to her), she pretends not to understand ukrainian or russian and speaks only English and she pretends that she is not Ukrainian. Moreover, she mentioned that she decides not to offer room upgrades to such guests.
I would like to emphasize that many Ukrainians arriving in the Netherlands or other countries simply want to rest. They do not demand that staff speak a specific language nor request upgrades. People from Ukraine are living through a war, and they may speak any language they feel comfortable with.
Unfortunately, Ukraine is currently facing issues with discrimination based on language, which creates tension and fuels hostility on social media. It is concerning that Maryna is engaging in this behavior while not living in Ukraine, instead of helping and supporting people from her own country.
Please consider whether someone with such an attitude should be interacting with guests at your hotel.
