Nh Caransa

Unfortunately I cancelled my reservation due to communication prior to my stay. I had asked if the rooms were carpeted, because I am severely asthmatic. First I received an answer in English and then I was told that this could not be guaranteed. It was only after three days and after explaining again that this is important for my health that I received confirmation that none of the rooms have carpeted floors. Due to the lack of understanding and the not very customer-friendly communication, I no longer had a good feeling when staying at this hotel. That's why I chose Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Centre, where I was immediately kindly helped and booked a wellness room for a similar price, near Amsterdam Central Station. That difference in service was decisive for me.

Very good, simple hotel at Rembrandt Square, very good breakfast, very clean, without its own bar and restaurant, tram line 4 and 14 stops directly in front of the hotel.

The hotel is located in Rembrandtplein which has a good nightlife. Certainly a great choice if you love nightclubs and bars. Even though that isn't our choice of activity, the hotel is perfectly situated for a short walk to all the sights. 30 mins walk to Foodhallen, 10-15 minutes to Dam Square etc. I would compare the hotel to that of a Premier Inn in the UK. We had the ‘superior room with a view and an extra adult bed’, which was basically a room for three-but could be 4 as the big double bed could be pulled apart. The view is of Rembrandtplein. My daughter was happy to have a double (sofa) bed all to herself! All beds were really comfortable. There were coffee making facilities. In the bathroom - a fantastic shower with shower gel etc (although the shower did leak slightly on the floor under the door/bath seal-a quick swoosh with the bath mat and all was fine!) and also hand soap and lotion next to the sink, There was a hairdryer in the bathroom too. There was space to hang clothes and a safe for valuables. A great idea was if you didn’t want your room cleaned, hang a door hanger on the outside of your door when you go to bed. In exchange for not having your room cleaned, you are given vouchers for drinks in another NH hotel across from NH Caransa. It was such a treat after a day’s exploring! We didn’t opt for the hotel breakfast but instead walk the 2mon walk to the local super, Albert Heijn. I had read reviews of the hotel before booking and lots of people said the music and ‘party goers’ was so loud it disturbed their sleep. With this in mind, I took my own ear plugs! The hotel supply them (they didn’t fit my ears) but was glad I took my own as they blocked out the noise form the nightclub and people having a fun night and into the hours! It didn’t spoil our stay as we were prepared. We loved our stay at this hotel and Amsterdam. The staff were wonderful-so polite and helpful. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel on check out so we could still enjoy our last day in Amsterdam before heading to the airport to come home.
