NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky

Great hotel location at Dam Square. Friendly staff but underwhelmed with the Junior Suite and no afternoon Canapes which for a 5 Star Hotel was disappointing.

The location of the hotel could not be better, right in the centre of Amsterdam on Dam Square. The level of service and attention to detail provided by the Grand Krasnapolsky is exceptional. You are greeted with a smile and made welcome by the staff, from checking in to checking out. They are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. My room was spacious and most comfortable, with excellent attention to detail, very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean.

I was booked to stay at this hotel. But due to a Eurostar fire, I cancelled within the cancellation period. I have subsequently been charged over 600 Euros for a stay I did not have at the hotel. I have spent over an hour and five calls trying to get into touch with the hotel, repeating my booking details every time and then having the call disconnected. When I did get through to someone, they said it was all in hand a refund would be issued. 10 days later, no refund. If you have an issue the hotel is impossible to get through to and to have to go to this much effort for a stay I didn't take would prevent me ever staying at this hotel in the future.
