Thorbecke Hotel

Stayed here for a week, I saw a rat in the stairways when I was going back to my room late at night but it's a not a big deal to me. this place is very close to the city center and very friendly staff but they also need to maintain the place. very dirty and needs lots of renovation.

Stayed here for one night in order to extend our holiday. Had everything we needed. Everything worked in our room. Was reasonably well kept up and had a roof window which opened and kept the room ventilated. Bathroom separate to room, but not too far away. Sink in room worked fine. Large room with seats.

I spent two nights in budget hotel Thorbecke with a group of friends and I was a little worried on what to expect from reading previous reviews. However, the hotel was fine and we didn't have any problems. Check in was supposedly at 2.00 pm but we were allowed to check in at 11.00 am which was beneficial. Hotel staff were polite and accommodating. Free Wifi in bedrooms which was ideal. Bedroom was cleaned during the stay. Only downside is that it could do with some renovation. 15 minutes walk into city centre was beneficial. However at paying 45 pounds for over 2 nights was extremely cheap and we didn't expect a 5* Hotel. A lot of the reviews on here seem to expect a 5* star hotel when it states a 1* star hotel. Would recommend to groups of lads or girls expecting a cheap holiday in Amsterdam.
