XO Hotels Blue Tower

My daughter started her university studies in Amsterdam last year. This is my second experience at the Blue Tower Hotel, due to its proximity to her student residence. I do not speak without reason: I was born, live, and work in Ibiza. Although I do not work in the tourism sector, in Ibiza we are all experts in tourist quality. And I am still amazed by the Blue Tower Hotel. Although I am a civil servant, I am just a simple administrator; I have not found a better quality-price ratio. It is a four-star hotel, and I can afford to pay for the entire room myself because the prices at this establishment invite you to stay. My stay coincided with the record temperature in the Netherlands: almost 40 degrees at the end of June. And the air conditioning at the Blue Tower Hotel handled it without problems. I apologize for my weakness for Spanish speakers, but this time I want to highlight the very correct treatment and good service from Nicolás. Please, gentlemen of the Blue Tower, congratulate him for his good work and kindness. My experience with him was very simple and very brief, but that is not necessary to appreciate the professionalism of a hospitality worker.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, where there are dining options and is well connected by public transport to reach the center and the Stoterlik station (towards the airport and many other destinations). Very clean hotel, welcoming and kind staff, very spacious rooms. Pleasant and comfortable experience. The only advice I can give is that many shops close after 7 PM, so you need to walk a bit to find some open places and restaurants, but if I were to return to Amsterdam, I would repeat the experience because I had a wonderful time.

A bit out from the city, but very close to public transport so doesn't really matter. Reception was helpful, telling us about the city and letting us leave our luggage in the lobby. The hotel is also a decent price for peak season Amsterdam. The rooms are very small but nice and modern. They could however do with a dusting, particularly the bedside tables.
