Zaan Inn Hotel

Sadly do not recommend. Good points are the convenient location, rooms cleaned daily & cheap. Bad points are we appeared to be locked out every night? We came back each night of our stay at 10-11pm (which is not late considering!) and the doors were shut. Had to wait for staff on a few occasions to let us in. 1 night we waited 20 minutes for a member of staff to realise we were waiting to get in. Hotel felt more like a hostel & was like a ghost town most of the time. We were also woken up 3 times out of a 5 night stay, very early in the morning by cleaners coming into our room. Even put the do not disturb on the door & they still entered. We were asleep in bed! Really not acceptable & a massive invasion of privacy. Avoid!

Not a great hotel at all. Looks run down on the inside so had a real hostel feel at a hotel price. Definitely not worth the price. Only plus is the hotels location to the train station and Zaandam central, which seemed a nice place, was very convenient We were also subject to several data breaches which did not seem to phase the Best Western group

We stayed for 2 nights as a family of four with our two children on a bed and breakfast basis and had a wonderful relaxing stay. The hotel was spotlessly clean and all the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and efficient. During the heatwave, the air conditioning in every room was a huge bonus and made our stay so much more comfortable. We had two twin rooms, which were a good size for our needs. Each room was well equipped with a mini fridge, complimentary tea and coffee maker, safe, blinds and blackout curtains, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station and a supermarket. Getting into Amsterdam and to the airport was quick and easy, making it a perfect base for exploring the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended!
