Elliot Hotel

Just a fantastic hotel with amazing attention to period detail, right in the middle of the city. Parking was tight but adequate and this didn't matter at all once we opened the door to the room. We didn't need or want extra ''amenities'' so didn't miss having a gym or pool. Despite being right in town it wasn't noisy and the open plan room worked perfectly. Yes this place is a bit pricey but in my view well worth it to get something a little different.

Its nice and central granted, but the windows are very old style and don't let a lot of air in. ~When I stayed there, there was no air-conditioning. The reception is up a flight of stairs so if you struggle to lift your suitcase you might not enjoy this either. Then you get to reception, and the lifts start at that level. This property backs on to a street (Elliot St) that has recently been turned into a paved mall, and can have noise late into the night. With no air-con you will be listening to it all night...

Still below expectations for a 4 star hotel. Check out times at 10am is just too early. Lack of amenities such as pool, fitness center and concierge service 24 hours. I got messed around with parking and had to pay extra because the receptionist had their information wrong. Also they ran my card for $500 at check in which seems wrong to me especially at this level! Our king size bed was actually two singles pushed together and not very comfortable. Surely that is not 4 star quality!
