We stayed the night at aotea motel in Christchurch. Very clean and nice unit but was spoilt by no milk at unit owner said he would buy some in the evening didn't want to wait 6 hours for a coffee never happened no extra pillows and blankets as stated one tiny heater for both rooms it was freezing cold no electric blankets as stated no sky as stated owner doesn't speak English much either have stayed in lots of motels and expect what they state to be there not happy won't stay there again.

We stayed on 30 June and were shocked by how bad this motel was. The photos online are completely misleading — the reality is dirty, run-down, and clearly not maintained. The room had holes in the walls, peeling paint, and lifting, filthy carpet. The shower was disgusting, with mould, a used bar of soap with hair, and even a loofah still in it. The kitchen had greasy cabinet fronts, one broken door, and an open carton of milk in the fridge that had expired weeks earlier. The toilet seat was yellowing, blankets were thin despite it being mid-winter, and there was a stain on the bed. It was obvious the room hadn’t been cleaned properly — if at all. We left and found a clean, comfortable motel elsewhere. The manager showed no concern and offered no refund, and even Expedia couldn’t get one for us. We were later told this property is used as emergency housing, which really should be disclosed before booking. This was one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. Do not waste your money here.

A very low score, for an average metel. Which makes me put a very bad note: after a more than average arrival, we ask where does it find barbecue and outdoor furniture? As a first response: You have booked a room first price, but what is the relationship with the bbq, then: it is not in the description, we show it on the booking site, then come a new version: it was 10 years ago. Anyway, she thinks we're three-week-old rabbits. It's not over, the cleaning in the room as specified certainly didn't happen. And to finish the mattress and completely out of use and dirty,but not to change it they put a foam plate and a duvet. To the manager: for a moment you have to stop making fun of customers
