Breckenridge Lodge

Malcolm makes the experience of staying at Breckenridge Lodge a real pleasure, beautiful rooms in beautiful surroundings. Pick the Vanilla room with the balcony if you can get it. The dinner with wines is a great experience.

Absolutely fabulous, the views over the vineyards are stunning, Malcolm and Ellie are wonderful hosts and the food cooked by Malcolm himself is delicious. The lodge itself is so beautiful. If your visiting the Hawkes Bay area, I strongly recommend you treat yourself and stay a couple of nights. We cane away very happy, relaxed and with a bag full of peaches freshly picked by Malcolm from one of his trees in his stunning garden.

This is an amazing place to stay. The location, views, and host all combine to make this a must-stay in the Napier area. The rooms have an incredible view, and little details make them excellent to stay in. (There's a very cool cabinet with roll-out shelves to put your open suitcases on!) The grounds are super nice, having been the result of a couple of decades of crafting by the host. Speaking of the host(s), they're so awesome. Ellie and Malcolm greeted us at the door as we were driving up, grabbing our luggage & carrying it in to an immaculately clean place. And Malcom is an INCREDIBLE chef! Despite having lots of excellent food in NZ, this rates as either our top, or tied-for-top meal. I just can't say enough - we'll definitely stay here (longer) next trip.
