Third time ... last time. Very dated but have persisted as the location is fantastic for what we need. Travelling as a business person, it is useless as the internet connectivity is non-existent. Had to tether to phones to maintain any connectivity. Rooms are very tired. Lighting is a joke. Small things like having the lights in the bathroom behind you so you cant see what you are doing, shower screen so low that everything gets covered in water when you shower, and the lighting in the room ... have a torch ready. If you do try to reach up to turn off the lights above the bed, do so carefully. They are not led bulbs and if you miss the tiny switch right under the fitting, you WILL burn your fingers. You will only eat at the onsite restaurant once ;)- That is not such a big issue as there are plenty of local options. Sorry team, but it will be our last visit.

Definitely not a 4 star property as advertised, having stayed at multiple hotels etc on NZ, this is definitely not to a hotel standard in relation to hygiene and facilities. Upon checking in, my room felt like a sauna with no air con and the fridge was switched off. Then once I turned on the air con unit to my surprise was mould in the air con unit was disgusting, pray I don’t get sick. There was no cooking facilities as advertised in the photo description on booking.com and the room facilities were very basic. Was scared to use the power points as shown in photos. I requested a quiet room to which they thought was good to allocate an inter connecting room which I could hear word for word the conversation the neighbours were having and direct view of the pool which also has screaming kids, not what I requested in my booking. I tried to communicate my concerns to reception but felt this was not addressed appropriately.

Upon arrival, I found the Quality Inn to appear pretty dated. Despite that, I found the room to be comfortable. The shower had good pressure and was really hot, the bed was comfy, the room was warm at night, and it was quiet enough once I closed all the windows. The lady who checked us in was also really friendly so I thought it was an OK place to stay. And then………. In the middle of the night on my 2nd night, the smoke alarm started doing the “low battery” beep. Luckily, I was able to reach it and bring it down to take the battery out. I then woke up to ants all over the counter in the kitchenette. They had found their way into my box of muesli so that had to be chucked out which sucked as I had only had one bowl of it. Luckily, that was the only food outside the fridge asides from a banana so I didn’t lose anything else. I found it to be quite concerning and disappointing that the Quality Inn does not follow the recommended guidelines of changing smoke alarm batteries at the same time every year (e.g. New Years, daylight savings) which keeps the batteries from getting to the point of being low (and disturbing their guests). The ant problem was also very concerning. These are 2 problems that I have never had anywhere else after decades of traveling.
