Hotel...or rather motel for hikers poorly soundproofed! You could hear the neighbor taking a shower... the kids upstairs walking... the other neighbor coughing! On the other hand, the pipes and the VMC extraction of the SDB made a lot of noise! So, the SDB...or rather a shower room with a tiny sink...you could not even put your toothbrush there! No storage... Fortunately, close to the park and volcanoes amazed us... not this very basic hotel...

We made a 4 week trip through New Zealand for 2nd, with various accommodations, from hotels to BnBs. That was by far one of the worst! The only positive is the location for the Alpine Crossing Tour! The best thing about the room was the heating for the mattresses, which you also needed because it is very poorly insulated and it only had 7 degrees (summer). Not suitable for house dust allergy sufferers as carpeting. The bathroom was not in good condition: Shower massively calcified, so it squirted everything wet, it was not clean either. In the cosmetic wipes box there were just four wipes left. The hotel restaurant also not recommended. Poor value for money. We had Buffett at breakfast. The selection was fine, not very high quality.

I think the average score is really too low. Room maybe on the small side but you are only there to sleep and the bed is fine. Bathroom also small but all amenities available. Cozy, après-ski-like bar adjacent to a good restaurant with varied menu and tasty prepared dishes. On request you can get a packed lunch for a reasonable amount and that saves hassle. We stayed there with great pleasure.
