Do not go here! We had a booking which they cancelled when we were less than half an hour away. We arrived not knowing that they had cancelled us and were met by a very rude owner who asked us why we had come, when they had cancelled us. This left us in a very difficult situation in finding alternative accommodation at very short notice. The weather was bad and he almost implied we had to have been mad to travel and should have stayed in the Bay of Islands. He did not offer to help us find alternative accommodation In the whole of NZ we have been met with the kindest, most helpful people but this man was so incredibly rude. He should not be in hospitality. This place should not be allowed to continue as a hotel and should be taken off third party booking sites. Not the way I wanted to spend the last two days of an amazing holiday.

Excellent hosts, very welcoming and nothing was difficult for them. The property is in excellent condition, the bedrooms are also in excellent condition and stylish. The bed and linen were first class. We would definitely return. It is easy walking distance to restaurant’s and bars in Mangonui.

Loved my stay at the Old Oak Hotel!! They were so welcoming and the building and surrounding area are absolutely stunning. A short walk to everywhere in town and a short drive to the beach. Quiet, clean, and lovely. Would stay again!
