Awesome location on a surprisingly inviting beachside location, ocean views from most rooms, reasonably well presented, yet getting a wee tatty for "Luxury" that they promote. Handy to cafes and great walks. Checkin easy, description a little confusing and tarrfis a tad high for what is on offer, at least free onsite parking is a welcome feature.

We stayed for 2 nights from the 25th of March in a luxury ocean view room. We were allocated 406 on the 4th floor. There was free underground parking with a lift to all floors, but spaces were limited, there was also parking out on the road if you were gone by the morning. There was a washing machine but no dishwasher or safe. The room was clean, smart TV but found the bed a little soft. We had breakfast around the corner at Starfish which was good. Overall, it was a comfortable stay

Drove from Lake Tepako to Dunedin, arrived at St Clare beach and found the hotel on the Esplanade. The reception checkin was easy and very helpful info and suggestions provided to us on arrival. Secure under building parking was appreciated and as was lift access to our room 205 which was a seafront corner room with 270 degree views and two balconies. Kitchenette, lounge/dining room comfy seating and tv with decent amount of channels . Bed was king and comfortably restful. The room was quiet and it was nice to still hear the muffled sound of the surf on the beach. Didn’t use the spa bath or washer/dryer but nice to have them there. Heated towel rails ad bathroom floor was a nice touch. The shower was strong. We made use of a couple of the restaurants within 50 mtrs of the hotel. Also read the guide and noted that there was a bus service (route8) with a stop just around the corner so we utilised that to get into Dunedin centre (about 7 or 8 ks) - very handy and saved driving/parking etc. An excellent choice for pleasant first visit to Dunedin . A very pleasant experience and in an ideal location.
