Balmoral Lodge was a wonderful place to stay, and I truly enjoyed spending our days here in Queenstown. Cis (the manager) was extremely kind to us. We arrived later than our scheduled check-in time, and he waited for us and welcomed us in a great way. She also helped us with a laundry service that was not included, yet he was kind enough to offer it anyway. The view from the room makes everything incredible—you wake up to one of the best views in Queenstown. For the price we paid, I believe it was absolutely worth it. We thought the room would be a bit bigger than it actually was, but even so, I really liked it. The service was excellent, and the room had many thoughtful details such as good coffee, tea, and very good cleanliness. The only thing that could be improved is the attitude of the housekeeping staff. It felt like they were in a hurry to have us out of the room by 10:30 a.m., otherwise it felt as if the room would not be cleaned. They were not very flexible when we asked to leave 30 minutes later—we requested 11:30 a.m., but it was not accepted. On the last day, they also left the cups we used for coffee and tea unwashed. Aside from that, it is an excellent place to stay, and I would recommend it 10 out of 10 times.

The stay was wonderful. Hotel parking in Queenstown seems to be a problem but this home had spaces for all guest. Street side parking appears to be available if needed. The room was quiet had had an amazing view. The walk up from town is a climb but I enjoyed getting the exercise. The host is a very charming person who was always checking of everything was ok. There is a communal area that featured some snacks and wine for free. There is also a small back yard overlooking the lake where guests can sit. The chocolate muffins left in the room were fantastic. Housekeeping was done each night. Even though the lodging is in a residential home it is run as a hotel (in a good way). Guest can come and go as they please anytime and do not feel as if they are intruding on the owners privacy.
