We stayed for 3 nights at Mantra The Point in a three-bedroom apartment overlooking Lake Wakatipu. The apartment was spacious, very comfortable and had stunning lake views that made our stay special. The property is a collection of serviced apartments managed by the Accor group. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. A couple of things to note: the approach road is quite steep, so take it easy the first time you drive up. Also, getting luggage to the apartment can be a bit of a workout, involving two flights of stairs up and one flight down to the bedrooms. The location is peaceful but a little removed from town, so you'll need a car for restaurants, groceries, and most activities. That said, we were able to walk about 10 minutes to the Hensman Road bus stop for our Milford Sound tour pickup. Overall, this is a great-value option for larger families or groups looking for plenty of space, beautiful views and a comfortable base in Queenstown.

Stayed here for 3 nights during our tour of South Island. As soon as you overcome the slight fear of driving down the steep incline from the road, everything else was perfectly fine. Room was more than adequate - not top end luxury, but it had everything we wanted and needed -- and the view over the lake just makes it all worth it. The coastal path into Queenstown was closed, so when we walked in, the first mile or so was alone the busy road, but then dropped down to where the track re-opened and it was lovely. To drive into Queenstown is about 5 minutes - but again you have to navigate that steep drive -- it is absolutely fine, just be careful.

Our apartment was beautiful. Very well equipped and the most amazing views over the lake. The walk in to town was about 25 minutes but so easy to get an Uber anywhere you wanted to go. Everyone was so kind and helpful to us especially Vinod who went above and beyond to assist us. We were so sad to leave this beautiful place.
