Used to be great, now an average priced rip off. Very disappointing. Room price has risen 60%, for a smaller room than I had last time. 2.9% surcharge for using a debit card with a chip, despite it not being a credit card. I used to regularly book between 4- 6 rooms for work, for up to a week at a time for my staff, plus meals at the restaurant. I will now take that business elsewhere. My advice find somewhere else that doesn't gouge.

Great king bed ground floor room overlooking the lake. Huge bathroom. All good amenities including a kitchenette with microwave, utensils, sink etc. couldn’t believe how quiet it was when the place was fairly well occupied. Could park outside the door. I just query having to pay a bond, so virtually double the room price. Seems a bit rich. I’m still checking it’s refunded. Note upstairs rooms are via stairs.

We paid a premium price for a studio for the Taupo Summer concert weekend by making the mistake of booking ahead. Despite there being plenty of availability, they steadfastly refused to review the rate we were charged. Upon checking they also charged an additional "security" $250 fee, and a $40 surcharge for paying by credit card! We asked if they could include breakfast for the high rate paid - the receptionist responded with an eye-roll & a condescending "no". The room smelt strongly of bleach when we entered, and required airing out to make it habitable. The room was very basic - the bare essentials when it came to amenities, and the tea so well hidden we didn't find it until day 2. Don't pay more than $200 for this property.
