The Wheatbaker

The staff are friendly and always greet you, which is lovely. However, whilst the rooms are clean, there are lots of scuff marks, paint chips etc, the rooms require some maintenance. The aircon is good and the wifi ok. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower which is nice, but no hand shower. The bathroom needs some maintenance. Dinner was ok, but not that tasty, breakfast had a good option, again, not that tasty. We asked for a 2pm checkout, we were offered 12:00 which didn’t work for us. The receptionist was not empowered to make a decision, and advised that his manager would call, which never happened. The gym and pool were both closed for renovations with no alternate options.

First visit to Lagos…glad I was at Wheatbaker. Good sized bed a d bath. Decent linens. Wi-Fi is good. Currency exchange on site. Restaurant Buffett is okay Pool is closed.

From an unassuming street, you step into The Wheatbaker Hotel and are immediately welcomed by courteous, professional staff. My business visit was thoroughly enjoyable—from the slice of a sweet cassava pudding served as a thoughtful accompaniment, to what may well be the best chicken pie I’ve had. The cappuccino was perfectly made and rounded off the experience beautifully. This first visit gave me every reason to return. A truly great experience.
