Clarion Oslo Airport

Clarion hotel did a great job communicating with me prior to arrival on 2/2 occasions. The staff were very helpful with how to work switched outlets. Breakfast buffet offers an excellent selection of fresh fruits, breads (even gluten free) cheeses, meats, salad vegetables, eggs and breakfast meats. I would certainly stay here again. It is quite easy to locate the shuttle bus pickup point at the airport.

The hotel was clean and the room had good beds, but it was lacking AC and got quite warm. The hotel was also being renovated, which made the stay more messy than expected. We were not informed of this when booking. This may explain why the bar did not offer any food, but guests should be informed in advance if renovation or limited service affects their stay. The staff at check-in were very nice, while the reception later, when I asked for coffee, was perceived as dismissive. The hotel's secluded location means guests have few other options, and the prices of food and drink were, in my opinion, far too high. A dinner cost about 500 NOK and a small beer 110 NOK (in the minibar in the room). I would have liked to see simpler and cheaper options in the bar, such as burgers, sandwiches or snacks, but there was nothing to eat there. During the day of the conference there were several coffee machines at the hotel, but they were turned off. I do not know if coffee was included in the conference agreement, but it should at least have been easy to buy a cup of coffee without having to go to the restaurant. A clean and basically good hotel, but the renovation, lack of information before booking, pricing and limited service reduced the overall impression.

The hotel has friendly and helpful staff who made the stay pleasant. It is currently undergoing renovations, so some areas are closed and parts of the hotel feel a bit worn at the moment. Despite this, the service was good, and I’m sure the hotel will be even better once the renovations are completed.
