Thon Hotel Oslo Airport

Everything was very good no reason to complain at all, quality every where even in small details... And so on and in because I need to feel the form with 100 symbols

Positive: Nice service at check-in. No waiting time. Great, nice suite. Good breakfast. Good dinner and dessert. Nice waitress. Good location ifht airport. Negative: According to the description of the rooms, the suites should have magazines and a richer selection of toiletries. This suite had nothing. Not one toilet item except soap and shampoo. Spotted mattress - see photo. Not impressive cleaning of walls and surfaces either. Defective coffee machine. Already when the restaurant opened for dinner, they announced that they were empty for 3 of the dishes on the menu. At check-out, the service at the reception was not satisfactory.

Thon hotel chain has really gone downhill since the founder, Olav, passed. Having one from possibly the best hotel chain in Norway with some of the best breakfasts on earth, to now probably the worst in the Nordics. First, don't expect any of the Thon+ program benefit the majority of the time, whether you are Platinum or Black. Upgrades are exceptionally rare. Amenities are a joke (one bottle of lukewarm water, no option for sparkling, per stay. That's the extent of it). There is virtually no difference in service or amenities not being a member or being a Black member. Staff are unpleasant, even plain nasty. Breakfast has been cheapened out with standards lower than prison systems in Europe, with orange juice replaced by colored sugar water with artificial flavors. Rooms are consistently filthy. As if they never clean the floors or furniture. Covered in food residue, dust, dirt, bread crumbles... White socks don't stay white for long on the dirty room floors. Furniture is also dated and getting pretty worn out. The worst, though, may be the temperature in room. In winter, it can be adjusted by a few degrees. Down to 19C. So it is manageable. In Summer, however, it is whatever temperature the room gets to, even if it is 25C. The adjustment to 19C doesn't work, and never has. It is scam. A lie. There is AC system and no capability for the ventilation system to decrease room temperature in Summer. Windows only slightly open (for our safety I'm sure), which doesn't really provide much relief. At this point, anyone would be better off avoiding Thon hotels altogether. I don't even see how the brand and chain can survive in the long term, where every other option in Norway is better.
