In doubt between two or three stars. I have slept many weird places around the world. In a duvet storage room on a Tibetan yak farm. In a room above a pub in western Australia, with white lizzards running on the floor and sitting on the walls. In a "hotel tent room," also in Australia, with frogs living in the toilet. In very basic rooms on Chinese mountain farms. In dirty rooms at English pubs in the countryside. On the floor below tables, on tables and even stuffed into a bunk bed with another person in overcrowded Norwegian mountain cabins. But never have I slept in a worse bed than in this hotel. The bed was small, but we knew that, so that's okay. What we didn't know was that the bed was originally one of those folding beds that are hanging on the wall. What on earth is a bed like that doing in an ordinary double room? There was a big and deep gap between the head end of the mattress - very uncomfortable and we had to fill ut up with our pillows. The other thing was the staffs that were sticking out from the bed. We ran our toes into them many times and my feet are still hurting. And finally we wondered if we should fear for the bed folding itself with us in it! I give an extra star for the dinner, that was actually very good. But the menu was very small. And the breakfast was very basic.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is right on the fiord. Our room was ample in space and very comfortable. We had an amazing view of the fiord. The food was very good and portions were ample. Breakfast offers a great variety and the dinner meal was excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Great hotel, great breakfast, friendly staff, BUT if a cruise ship is there , with us on 2 out of 2 days the sea view surcharge is not worth it
