Scandic Hotel Aalesund

Upon arrival we asked for a credit card print even though we had paid the full amount to the agency that had organized our trip. It was a guarantee... of what? A may be to make sure that one does not take a bed! Initially I had to claim this deposit. They didn't know what I was talking about...! Having worked in the hotel industry for thirty years, I know that accounts are made at night. And then someone should have seen that there was a problem with the cash register but they saw nothing! After 15 minutes of discussion and someone intervened, I was told that I would be reimbursed but that the credit would not appear until two days later.

Newly renovated hotel with nice rooms and a restaurant with very good food and incredible views. Very satisfied with the stay as a whole.

Hotel is fine but quite pricey compared to the other Scandic hotels I have had in Norway (4). Must have something to do with the location. Beds and breakfast were excellent and that is also my experience so far at Scandic.
