Quality Straand Hotel

Lovely view from the room. Nice terrace with serving, but on a hot summer evening with the terrace full of guests, it is not very serviceminded to close at 21. The option was to go into the bar to order and then go out, but..... Nice terrace in 2.etg. but here you might have spent a little more furniture, not just 2 round tables with 4 chairs on each. Good food.

We were on a coach trip staying for 5 nights, while touring the area. Our room was clean, plenty big enough, with a lovely view of the lake. There was a buffet breakfast and evening meal. We are fussy eaters so we were pleased to see plenty of choice. The food was excellent. The dining room staff were friendly and helpful. There were lots of places inside and outside to sit and chat with a drink. Thankyou everyone at the Straand, we really enjoyed our stay.

A family of 6 wanted to enjoy a good and coozy dinner, little did they know... It all started at the counter trying to figure out the menu and were to sit (in hindsight we ought to turn around an go back out at this point), but we ordered. After a long kold, sigarettsmoky wait the food started to arive. The first dish was suposed to be a glutenfree burger, but no burgerbread, insted there were 2 slices of grained bread. After a while we recived four more dishes, cold ones with soggy fries. The last dish didnt arrive before we asked for it. The poor boy apologised that there had been a glip in the kitchen... After the rest of us had finished our meal, the last one got his dish. He was the only one getting warm food, so thats something positive. Then it was time for dessert. Carrotcake ❤️ we should have known better than to get our hopes up... A cake arrived, not a carrotcake, we still dont know what it was. But it was filled with nuts, even though they were told about nutallergies. The poor boy apologised ones again for the screwup i the kitchen, and they wanted to make it up bringing the right cake to the table... Yet again a cake arrived, yet again not a carrotcake. Then we gave up... So if you have to much money, or on a diet so u rater dont wanna eat, this is the place for you! We will never visit this place again, and neither should you.
