Great hotel. Very personable and accommodating. Beds very comfortable. Close to the city center

We stayed here twice, before and after our trip to Machu Picchu and they stored the luggage for our group whilst we were away. Situated in the city reasonably central for most things. Nice reception area/lounge full of artifacts, however, no real reason to sit and enjoy it early evening as the bar was not open, depsite there being drink on show. We would have happily sat and had a couple of G & T's pre our eveing meal! Reception was helpful and friendly, but no lifts in the building. Fortunately one of the staff carried our bags up the stairs. The rooms vary, on our first stay we had a double which was a reasonable size with King Size bed. There was a view of the mountains from hereif you ignored the delapidated rooftops next door. The shower was over the bath and had a curtain that insisted on sticking to you as you showered. On our second stay we were put on the third floor in the roof, (room 311), in a suite which was beautiful. This had a lovely bathroom, complete with jacuzzi bath, the room also had a fireplace and seating area. It was on the front of the hotel so there was a bit of noise from over the road at night but it wasn't loud enough to disturb our sleep. Breakfast was served just off reception, an excellent buffet, one of the best we experienced on our tour. This was kept topped up and clean by one waiter who did a brilliant job including collecting used plates etc. Nice boutique shops over the road to peruse and some lovely restaurants within 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

We stayed here two nights before our trip to Machu Picchu and the another two on our return. As others have said drivers love blowing their horns so we thought our room a the front would be noisy but the secondary glassing worked well. Neither our rooms were anything like as spacious as the ones in the photos. The decor in the lobby and throughout the hotel was very tasteful. Breakfast was good with lots of choice There was nowhere in the bathroom to hang the washing but the hotel has a very good laundry service. The big plus about this hotel is its location. So central and near the main square with lots of coffee shops and restaurants close by.
