rated El Cielito Hotel 3 out of 5, and frankly, that’s being generous. The property functions purely as a place to sleep—nothing more. There is nothing about the stay that felt elevated, comfortable, or particularly well-maintained.
The hotel is clearly old. While there seem to be attempts at renovation, the improvements feel partial and inconsistent. The room condition reflects its age. The linens and pillows looked worn—the “white” fabric had already darkened, and the blanket had visible cigarette burns. For any hotel, especially one charging standard city rates, this is unacceptable. Clean and fresh bedding should be a non-negotiable basic standard.
The bathroom (CR) was very small and cramped. Although the water pressure was decent, the shower setup itself felt outdated and underwhelming. The overall bathroom experience did not feel clean-cut or refreshed.
Another concern is privacy and ambiance. Neighboring residential houses are directly outside the window, which diminishes the sense of exclusivity and comfort one expects from a hotel stay.
Front desk service was average at best—transactional, not particularly warm, and not impressive. There was nothing about the hospitality that stood out.
Breakfast buffet was acceptable with a fair selection, but again, just average—nothing memorable or remarkable. The location is convenient and within walking distance of the city center, which is one of its stronger points. In terms of value for money, it is just fair—you pay, you sleep, you leave.
Overall, El Cielito Hotel is serviceable for a very short stay if expectations are minimal. However, the property needs serious updating, especially in room quality, linens, and overall presentation, if it wants to compete with more modern accommodations in the area.

El Cielito Inn is one of the oldest accommodations in Baguio. It is located near SM Baguio, about a 5-minute walk away.
Advantages:
• Near SM Baguio
• Has dedicated parking spaces for guests, but you need to arrive early
• Some rooms have air conditioning
Disadvantages:
• The rooms and facilities are old; just by looking at them, the hallways feel somewhat haunted
• The hallways are dark, and the motion-sensor lights add to the eerie atmosphere
• Very small hotel lobby
• We availed of their Christmas buffet dinner, which cost PHP 1,300, but the food selection was poor. There were no cakes, the dishes were very simple, not well thought out, and had a cheap overall vibe
• The bedding and pillows were very dirty; the pillows should be double-covered
• The wooden parquet flooring inside our room was also dirty
• The yellow lighting is too dim
Unless they improve and renovate the hotel, one stay is more than enough.

Stayed here one night and found it quite comical. There were 7 staff when we went for dinner but they weren’t doing anything. No one cleared our plates after dinner despite so many people - i actually had to put them on the next table! Food was quite good but didn’t stand out. There were no tables set at breakfast- we had to get everything ourselves. They could have at least put cutlery on the tables! Again - loads of staff hanging around but doing nothing. I had to ask for a tea bag - first hotel I’ve been in that didn’t have any. It was entertaining if you could manage not to get frustrated!
