Golden Prince Hotel and Suites

We had an overnight stay in this hotel. Breakfast served was excellent, so many options to choose from, including some Cebu delicacies. Staff were well-organized. The hotel is accessible to some top destinations in the city.

My 70 plus year old father in-law stayed at this friendly hotel for 19 days. The room was kept clean, amenities replenished, cable TV quality very good which kept Dad entertained when he was in the room, he loved the hash browns at breakfast and most of all the hotel team took care of him very well. During an early morning evacuation due to an earthquake, they did everything right--called him to advise he had to get dressed, went to his room to assist him and ensured he had a chair to sit on at the evacuation venue. Whenever he got off the car security was quick to assist him up the steps to the hotel lobby. Restaurant staff greeted him by name every morning and he never had to feel alone because they conversed with him when they saw him. If you are looking for a hotel in Cebu that is near the business and shopping district, safe, practical and HELPFUL, keep Golden Prince Hotel top of mind. Food faves: revel bar, fried chicken, chocolate cheesecake, hashbrowns, healthy smoothies, chicken curry on rice.

If you plan to buy dried fish, be warned!! they do not allow guests to bring it into their hotel rooms, even if it’s vacuum-sealed. Their reason? They say it “smells bad and is difficult to remove.” Honestly, that’s ridiculous, especially since Cebu City is known for dried fish! What’s even more frustrating is that this rule isn’t mentioned anywhere on their website. They’ll only tell you that “it was indicated in the paper you signed” during check-in which feels like a trap for guests. To make things worse, they’ll make you pack your things in the lobby where there are lots of people around super awkward and uncomfortable. This kind of policy should be clearly explained to guests upfront, not hidden in fine print. And it doesn’t stop there. The air conditioner doesn’t cool at all, the door key card doesn’t work properly, and the shower is confusing to use it’s a guessing game which side is hot or cold. Overall, it was a really disappointing and stressful experience. For the price and the location, I expected at least a comfortable stay not all these unnecessary hassles.
