Citystate Tower Hotel

We have just spent 4 lovely days at the Citystate Tower Hotel here in Manila. The location is central to what we needed. Our room was very nice, clean and well appointed. The hotel offers a nice bar option in the evening and we even had a lovely piano player last night in the lobby. I don't believe you can get a better deal for your $ anywhere here in the city. All that being said, the hotel staff is the crown jewel of this establishment! We have rarely ever been treated this well during all of our travels.

My wife and I have stayed there a number of times the staff have been friendly but on 1 occasions we checked out waited down stairs for about 2 hours then all of a sudden we were accused of leaving a dirty towel and they wanted to charge us P1,500 I checked the room and towels etc and all were hung up and clean they ended up charging us P700 we were ripped off as I know how we left the room we have stayed there since But we get the room checked when arriving and I will wait for them to come to the room when checking out We were ripped off and the Manager knew this it was very upsetting as I’ve always been very tidy in the room and never left it dirty so my Suggestion don’t leave your room until you have someone come and check it same on arrival any thing broken bring it to there attention other wise they will pull the same trick as they did on us Someone put a dirty towel amongst ours as there was 5 towles so I never learnt a BIG lesson from this I never check out of any motel until they come check it ,it could be a trick they pull on customers to rip them off BE WARNED

Great for walking-in guest if not found anywhere else. We were accused of stealing a bath towel upon checking out. Our bags been searched. If you ever to use this hotel or any hotel in the Philippines I suggest you to take photos of the room upon checking in or go through with housekeeping. The resident manager who checked our bags was rude. He even came up with an idea saying that someone may have visited us and taken a towel from the room. I am a hotelier myself for 30 over yrs and resides in Australia. The basic theory of the hospitality industry WAS ‘guest is always right’.
