The name of this hotel is a complete misnomer, as it is neither grand nor regal. There was garbage strewn all over the parking lot; the hotel clerks were very disinterested if you had a complaint about your room; the toilet bowl had old brown water stains; the 90's era TV in the room had only one channel on its cable service; the accompanying breakfast was very mediocre; the hotel hallways were eerie and it gave you a discombobulated feeling that you were in a Stephen King novella (clue: a slasher was gonna jump out at you any moment now).

Checked in at this hotel with my sister for a night. Got their superior room-two single bed. The room was very old and unclean. We could see dust in the corners and peanut shell from previous occupants was just lying on the corner floor. Vinyl tiles were partly removed. Aircon was so small and very dusty. As we entered the lobby a smell of dust & old place will welcome you. I paid the room thru online booking so there was no turning back. When we checked in I was told by the receptionist that the OR will be issued when we check out. But when we checked out we were told that they could not issue yet because our payment was not forwarded to them by the online booking agency. And the clerk was disrespectful. Old big hotel and creepy. Not worth the money the spent.

We had visited Bacolod for quite several times but this was our first time that we went to the city and raining hard. The lobby was spacious and hotel staffs were not that friendly. The rooms were old and rusty. Bathroom was a mess with smelly water in the sink. The aircon was worst. It was not functioning and definitely need of repair. The buffet breakfast was not seem to be a buffet with very limited selection of food. The worst part of our stay was due to the bad weather and heavy pour out of rain throughout the day, flood built up outside the hotel with HEAD deep and even inside the hotel’s lobby. There were several people outside the hotel freezing but the hotel’s management did not even let them in. We rented a car but unfortunately it had floated in the parking lot due to the rising water. The next day, there was no breakfast served because their kitchen was deep in waters. I cannot blame the hotel for these scenarios because we cannot predict mother nature’s wrath, however, I hope they will have improvements on the safety of their guests when emergency situation occurs. We will never stay in this hotel again.
