Sunlight Guest Hotel

We had a really lovely experience here. The team were very accommodating and friendly, and the service was consistently great from start to finish. The food was tasty, and the breakfast buffet in the morning was a highlight — a great way to start the day. I have been lucky enough to catch a few sunsets here while enjoying cocktails and beers and it never really gets old. Wherever you sit — by the pool or closer to the ocean — there is a calm, relaxing atmosphere. If you ate near the water, it’s so clear you can even spot fish swimming by, which was a nice touch. Overall, a really peaceful place to unwind. I’d happily come back again. 5/5 x

Location: Good location close to the port, but a bit from the city center. This can be reached by taxi in about 10 minutes. We chose this hotel because no alternatives were available near the port. Visually, the lobby and breakfast room make a good impression. From the outside, too, the hotel initially looks appealing. However, as soon as you enter the room, this impression quickly disappears. The hotel has come of age overall, which is particularly evident in the rooms. Our room, which was stated as 22 m2, looked significantly smaller including bathroom. There was hardly any space between the bed and the wall to move freely. The floor was damaged in places, and the bathroom looked unkempt. The “highlight” of the room was the view – unfortunately directly onto a wall only about 2–3 meters away. Since we mainly used the room for sleeping, it was particularly disappointing that the beds were extremely hard. A thin topper on a very hard surface made for uncomfortable sleeping comfort. The entire hotel complex is in need of renovation and looks outdated overall. Breakfast: Buffet with sufficient choice – everyone will find something here. Staff in the breakfast area were friendly and helpful. However, it is advisable to arrive early, as food is hardly refilled and later only leftovers are present. Internet: Stable. Pool: We only saw the pool from the breakfast room, but it made a well-kept impression. Service: There is considerable room for improvement here. Upon our arrival, we were initially assigned a room that had not yet been cleaned after the previous guests. It took us a while to get another room. In addition, we were called the night before our departure by the reception and asked when we would leave the room. Since our ferry to El Nido departed at 7:30 am, the hotel apparently expected us to check out as early as 6:00 am. But we didn't feel really welcome. In the immediate vicinity there are opportunities to buy water and snacks, but hardly any restaurants or food offers. You have to go to the city center for that. Conclusion: The hotel is not recommended overall.

The hotel is well located but the hotel is aging, the pool is poorly maintained.
