The Red Tulip Hotel

The Red Tulip has a new name and it was always a nice, friendly place but with the ownership change it became sometimes noisy, more expensive, and sometimes quite rude and un friendly. I rate this place very low now. I was very happy to be out of it. I don't know why it became unfriendly but que sera sera.

The first thing i noticed as i opened my room is that a big cockroach welcomed me in. i immediately returned the favor by hitting it with my shoe. Floor is dusty, could use a good cleaning from time to time. bed has some insects on it i'm not sure which species. toilet is leaking and i can hear it from my bed. aircon is noisy too. Property must be around 20-30 years old but maintenance is poor. price is cheap i'm not complaining about it. location is ok too. its in the quiet part of the neighborhood considering its very near the city's night clubs. i don't even mind if its along a dirt road. but at least, they should clean the room, and do some proper maintenance of the place. will i come back? probably not.

The location itself is quite remote - thus prepare to arrange your own transport. But that's not the major issue - but the hygiene situation of the room. The room itself is dusty, looked like it was emptied for a while. There were cockroaches running in the bathroom, and a used shampoo bag was left at the shower. There were bugs on the bedsheet that bit. Eventually I had to use the towel (wish me luck) to cover the bedsheet in order to sleep...
