Villa Maria

We stayed at this guest house for 4 nights. The room we stayed in was lovely tea n coffee and kettle in our room and cups in the hallway with fresh bottled water if we wanted it. The hosts were lovely did not speak much English but helped us where they could nothing was a problem. We payed them night before we left not once did they ask us for money we offered it to them. Breakfast was ample continental breakfast ideal to start the day. Main part of Krakow was a tram ride away (6 stops) they came quite frequently so was not a problem we could have got a taxi but we decided we wanted to travel like the locals. Well worth a visit.

I stayed at this guest house for two nights. First of all, nobody could speak English and I couln't get any help from them. The only help I got is how to go to the city centre. Secondly, they asked me to pay while I was having breakfast even if I had time for checkout till 11 pm. Thirdly, the man who asked me to pay immediately told me that he had to go to work (he was wearing a suit) and that's why I had to pay but after I paid, I saw him in casual clothes in the hotel. When I asked him why he didn't go to work, he couldn't give me a logical answer. Finally, they didn't let me leave my baggage at the hotel, which I found a bit rude. Normally you can leave your baggage even at the cheapest hostels and I had to carry my baggage everywhere with me for this reason.

I stayed at this guest house for one night at the beginning of October. It is a beautifully decorated and well looked after house a short metro ride (10 mins) from the city centre. The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly, although they spoke only a little English and I speak even less Polish, their warmth and kindness were clear. The rooms were clean and well kept and the breakfast was magnificent. This would be ideal for couples or solo travellers wanting to explore the beautiful city of Krakow.
