Litwor

I spent lovely time in swim pool, jaccuzi and sauna, hotel next to main street Krupowki. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Litwor hotel has no elevators but there is no problem to enter to second floor.

We booked a room at Litwor in January for our stay in April. Everything was paid and confirmed. We even got auto-confirmation from the hotel website. A couple of weeks before the beginning of our stay we got an email from someone saying the hotel had been closed and we were moved to a different hotel. By then all of our travel plans had been set in stone so we couldn't just cancel. We agreed under pressure and moved our stay to their sister hotel Belvedere, which was farther from Zakopane center (see photo). Upon arrival we discovered that our requests had not been communicated despite multiple emails and confirmations. We got a double room that was worse than the room we booked. So strange as Litwor was a five star hotel and Belvedere was a four star hotel. Shouldn't they have upgraded us? Our food restrictions had also been ignored. No soy milk had been served for breakfast despite us having communicated that we are lactose intolerant. Furthermore the blanket on the bed was too small and the curtains did not cover the whole window. All in all - very disappointed. But the biggest shock came when I received a "thank you for staying with us" from hotel Litwor. How can they send a thanks note after everything they put us through? It's truly appealing. We booked a five star hotel and ended up with less than average experience. After doing research we understood there was a scandal involving Litwor and Belvedere but that is no excuse for treating us this way.

This was our second visit to the Litwor which is a great complement as we usually like to try different places. In fact, we added a couple of days onto a ski holiday primarily to go back here. The rooms are spacious and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The sauna was very welcome after a cold day on the slopes and the food and wine in the restaurant are great. Make sure you try a vodka in the bar too. The staff are very helpful and the location is perfect. Highly recommended.
