Location for the historic centre cannot be better. It’s a functional Radisson with comfy beds and everything works - not sure I’d give it 5 stars though. More of a good 4 star hotel. The lobby is totally dreary and could do with a refurb. Staff are friendly and responsive. Breakfast is buffet style and fine with a big selection. Same area becomes the main restaurant in the evening but I couldn’t bring myself to eat there because it was always empty.
Good value. Unbeatable location. A pleasant stay.

The location is extremely central, right in the heart of the Old Town. It is perfectly situated so that you can walk everywhere, with plenty of different restaurants, bars, and attractions just a short stroll away.
Our 8-year-old child was welcomed wonderfully, and there was even a lovely towel animal waiting on the bed, which was a great touch.
The hotel is clean, and everything runs with the efficiency you would expect from a reliable chain hotel. The service was friendly. The breakfast was good, solid quality, and in addition to the buffet, you could order a few options from an à la carte menu.
Overall, it is a clean, basic chain hotel in an excellent location. While it might be a little "soul-less", I can easily recommend it as a solid base for a city break.

The Radisson Blu Old Town Gdansk is ideally located near the Green Gate at the end of Long Market and just steps from the River Motława. From the outside, the hotel looks like all the other old buildings on Long Street. Inside it is a thoroughly modern hotel with 145 rooms. The building underwent extensive renovation to update its facilities.
My room was quite large and overlooked a sea of red-tiled rooftops. It was not only a good base for exploring Gdansk, but it provided a restful haven from the crowds and the heat. The room included two comfortable lounge chairs as well as a desk.
The room was quiet and had blackout curtains, an asset during Poland’s long summer days. Housekeeping was quite helpful in replacing the heavy duvet with a top sheet. All this contributed to a restful sleep.
Breakfast is not included, but there are so many quaint cafes lining Long Market that I was never tempted to eat at the hotel. If you do opt for the breakfast buffet, you’ll find that the cost is high for Poland.
The front desk staff were helpful in arranging a private tour of Malbork Castle and providing information on the must-see sights in Old Town.
I also want to recognize the overnight staff, especially a member of the laundry department. One night an unexpected building issue left the emergency light in our room illuminated. Since the engineering staff wouldn’t arrive until morning, the front desk asked a laundry employee to see if he could help. Together we came up with a temporary solution using cardboard, tape, and a ladder that allowed my husband and me to get back to sleep. It wasn’t his job, but he cheerfully pitched in anyway. That willingness to go above and beyond is exactly the kind of service that earns my five-star rating.
